External links

Your navigation structure can contain the external links apart form the links generated from the website configuration. In that situation your website visitor will have the possibility to click on the Navigation item name and be automatically redirected to the external website or page.

ADDING An EXTERNAL LINK

Go to Publications/Website and on the PAGE OVERVIEW page click on the "New external link" button if you want to add a link on the 1st level of menus



Select any page (or subpage) from the taxonomy tree and click on the "New external sublink" button if you want to add a link on the 2nd, 3rd etc. level of menu



You will be redirected to the external link new page creation



Here you can input a navigation title, the adress of the external link, select a navigation status and target. 

Navigation title is the title of the link which will be displayed in the menu

 

External link is the adress of the external website (i.e. http://www.contentforces.com) - remember to input links with 'http://' at the beginning
 

 

Navigation status means that the external link can be:
- ONLINE (link is visible in the menus after publishment)
- OFFLINE (link is not visible in the menus after publishment)
 


In Target dropdown you can select if external link will open in the "Same window" or "New window"
 

Click the "Save" button to create an external link  or the "Cancel" button to discard changes

External link was created and is visible in the taxonomy tree

External link is visible on preview and will be visible on page just after publishment


 

EDITING EXTERNAL LINK

Select external link from the taxonomy tree

Click the "Edit" button

Now you can change the navigation title, adress of external link, navigation status and target.

Click the "Save" button to create external link  or the "Cancel" button to discard changes

Changes were saved and are visible in the taxonomy tree

Changed external link is visible on preview and will be visible on the page just after publishment


 

DELETING EXTERNAL LINK

Select the external link from the taxonomy tree

Click the 'Delete' button

Click the "OK" button to delete the external link. Otherwise click "Cancel" to discard operation.

External link was successfully deleted
